Ok, so first day of Siggraph is over. Honestly, I've never met such a big group of amazing and talent people all with similar interests. This has got to be one of the coolest experiences I've ever gotten to be a part of.
Orientation was pretty epic, learned all about what's going to be happening over the next week, what our jobs as Student Volunteers are and just how much fun we're going to have.
Within minutes of getting to the Vancouver Convention Centre, made a ton of friends. Amazing what happens when you wear a volunteer tag around your neck and someone comes up to you saying "Hey, I'm a volunteer too, what room do I need to sign in at? By the way my names is ________ and I'm from ________. how goes?"
So this week is going to be all about networking, making acquaintances and rubbing shoulders with the experts. Checking out portfolios, throwing around business cards and throwing on the giant neon sign above your head saying "I'm totally for hire, PICK ME".
Gunna keep everyone up to date as much as I can on here, so for those of you who couldn't join us at the conference will get an insight on what's happening and who's doing what. Without spoilers of course :p
